Chapter 7

"Is everybody ready?"
Pein had gathered us all in the living room to get ready to leave. We all had at least 3 suitcases each, all filled with heaven knows what and we were desperate to know how we were all meant to get ourselves, let alone all the luggage, to Pein's little Island paradise.
"Yeah, pretty much!" I smiled, "But, how are we getting there?" I asked innocently, my head cocked to one side.
"Simple, we're going to get there through our teleportation jutsu," Konan informed me softly, a kind smile dusting her features,
"Great!" I chirped,
"When do we leave?" Itachi asked smoothly,
"Now," With that, Pein snapped his fingers and in a great puff of smoke, the entire Akatsuki were taken to a beautiful island surrounded by crystal blue water. It was bright and sunny, the grass was a lush green and the trees decorated the scene perfectly. The mansion truly was great. It had 2 floors and a large porch, covered in flowers. There was a pool and a small Jetty along with what seemed like a picnic table that we would surely use quite a lot.
We all dropped our bags and soaked up the sunlight.
"Well, I think we should let you go and find your rooms then…" Pein waved for us to enter the great building.
It was clean and bright which was the last thing you'd expect, but none the less, it was magnificent. Two sets of stairs joined up to create one leading off to the other floor. Tobi and I stared at the staircase, then at each other, back to the stairs and then back to each other again. I grinned and assumed the masked man was thinking exactly the same thing as me.
We both bolted for the stairs, carrying our bags with us as we ran off the get the rooms we preferred. Like a chain reaction, the rest of the Akatsuki looked at each other and then followed quickly, chasing after us madly. I raced down a hall with Tobi by my side and skidded to a halt. We stared at one door after another, each with our names on them.
'So much for the rooms we prefer…'
Each in silvery letters, our names were stuck on the doors.
"What is this, fucking boarding school!?" Hidan called out, staring at his door.
"We've given you all rooms that we know you'll love…" Konan's soft voice called out as she glided past us. With that, we all opened up the doors to our rooms in amazement.
Mine had plenty of space and was made up using my favourite colours; Black, Blue, and Purple. There was a wide window that took up nearly the entire wall in front of me with a balcony, set with a small table and a deck chair. It overlooked the pool and some trees. It was truly beautiful. The bed was grand and had silky black sheets and pillows. Decorating the 4 posts of the bed was a pale blue mosquito net that was hung up using white ribbons. There was a large table with some flowers in the middle of the room along with a soft black couch and a couple of armchairs. The wardrobe was, believe it or not, a walk in room, set with a full length mirror and all. The walls were pale lavender, which gave the room a cool feel that I loved.
I stepped through the glass sliding door and out onto the balcony to be greeted with a cool gust of air. I was going to enjoy this vacation; that much was obvious. I grabbed onto the railing and peered over to admire the view.
"Remika-Chan!" I flicked my head to the right and smiled at a waving Deidara. His balcony was just beside mine, so at least I'd have someone to talk to at night. I flicked my head to my left, curious to find out who else was beside me. I moved across to get closer to the balcony and peered in through the window. I noticed a mop of red hair sitting on a chair, reading in silence.
Sasori, no doubt.
"Hey, Pinocchio!" I called out teasingly, a grin plastered to my face. I saw his head lean down and shake a little, a clear sign that he was rolling his eyes at me, before he turned to me lazily. I gave him a cheery little wave, to which he stood up and opened the door. What I didn't notice until he reached the door was that his cloak was undone and he was waltzing around his room without a shirt on. He slid open the door and leaned against the frame letting the sun bounce of his realistic chest.
For a puppet, he was hot!
"Can I help you, Remika-Chan?" he asked in his soft, lazy tone. I shook my head and reluctantly pulled my gaze away from his mind-melting body and smiled,
"Just wanted to know who else was next to me!" I answered happily,
"Who else is next to you?" He asked, tilting his head to one side,
"Deidara," I giggled, "Won't this be fun!" I turned my gaze to the blue waters surrounding the island.
"Hmm, good luck then. At least I have Itachi over on the left. I know he'll be quiet at least…" Sasori followed my gaze and remained silent for a while, "Remika,"
I turned back to him when he finally spoke in a daze,
"Why are you here?" He asked, turning his chocolate brown eyes to me slowly.
'What? What is he on about!? He was there when I got taken, right!?' I thought, staring at him confused, my head tilted to one side.
"Sasori, you were there. Remember, I was fighting you, and then Deidara flung one of his little birds at me, and-,"
"No." Sasori stopped me, not blinking once, just staring at me. It was like his eyes were boring deep within me, staring into my soul. "No, Remika. You and I both know that you could easily have recovered from that. In fact, you probably could have swapped yourself for a log if you wanted to, but you didn't. Even Itachi saw it, he has sharingan remember," He pointed out. I swallowed the bile that was rising in my throat.
"How did you know, Sasori?" I asked hesitantly,
"Unlike Deidara, I actually read your file before we left. He dove straight for the picture of you," He rolled his eyes, "You could've easily moved or swapped yourself for a log before that bird blew up." He lowered his head, his eyes still boring into mine, "So, why didn't you dodge it?" He finally asked. I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists.
'Why didn't I dodge it!? I saw it coming, I knew what it was, why didn't I move out of the way!?' I thought, biting my lip and flicking my fringe out of my face,
"Too much effort…" I answered shortly, waving him off and walking back into my room, leaving the red-headed puppet master on his balcony, dumbfounded.
Now I was confused beyond belief. Why didn't I dodge the clay bird?
Deidara was slow with his reaction and I saw his attack before he even made it. I doubt anyone, even an idiot with half a mushed brain, could miss a pair of mouths on the palm of someone's hands. Anyone could have seen that, especially me.
I was even using my unique eye jutsu at the time so to be able to detect the compound of the clay was simple. It was explosive and he was directing it for me. A simple dodge or even replacement jutsu, like Sasori suggested, would have been simple and enough for me to-
Ugh, headache. I was thinking too hard.
Damn Sasori for bringing it up with his damn intelligence. I sighed, letting out a puff of warm air, blowing my fringe out of my face.
"I need a shower…" I mumbled, "Where's the goddamn bathroom..." I started walking around the room like a spastic zombie craving brains. I eyed a white door on the wall beside the wardrobe. "That'd better be it…" I grumbled, reaching for the silver doorknob.
Sure enough, beyond the door was a bleached white bathroom. I began to undress, flinging the articles of clothing into a corner and turning on the hot water.
As the steam rose into the air and the smouldering water hit my body, I fell into heaven. I ran my hands through my hair and let the water cascade down my form. I opened my eyes and noticed bottles of shampoo and conditioner. On the shampoo, there was a note;
                                     'Remika,
Welcome to the Akatsuki, kiddo. I'm sure we'll get along just fine.
I know you'll just love this!
                                      -Konan'
I smiled at her kindness and opened the bottle. I poured some of the pale pink goo into the palm of my hand and massaged it through my hair. It smelled somewhat fruity and sweet… I just couldn't put my finger on the scent…

After what must've been an hour, I was out of the shower and in a warm towel. I stepped out into my bedroom and flicked my dripping hair off my face and strode over to the bags on my bed.
"Remika Chan!" Tobi's faint voice calling out could be heard from beyond the door. The sound of bounding footsteps getting closer by the second was unmistakeable too. Sure enough, the masked mad-man burst through the door and grabbed me in a hug, slamming the door behind him.
"TOBI! I'M IN A TOWEL!" I shrieked, covering my top half in fear that the towel would slip and my dear friend in the swirly mask would see a whole lot more than he ever needed to.
A low and husky chuckle was heard as I was gently dropped to my feet, "Well, I'm sorry my dear…" Madara had pulled his mask off and was smirking down at me.
"What is it, Madara?" I asked softly, rummaging through my suitcase,
"Everyone's going for a swim in the pool before lunch, are you coming?" He asked, reaching for his mask that he had perched on top of his head,
"Sure, just get out and let me change!" I agreed, pushing him gently out the door,
"OK! BYE REMIKA-CHAN! ~" he sang, skipping off downstairs.
I shook my head and pulled out the bikini that Deidara helped me pack with a small smile gently tracing my features.

I walked out the front doors cautiously, rounding a corner and peering out, watching everyone by the pool. Now I knew why Deidara had chosen this bikini in particular.
It showed off more than I had first expected it to. I had even wrapped a small black scarf around my waist but that didn't do much.
At least I didn't look all bad. I had the body; I had the skill to be able to cover myself up if I needed to, and I would be fine… as long as my boobs didn't fall out or something stupid…

I took a deep breath in and walked out to the fanatical Akatsuki members. It amazed me how childish and carefree they became when on holiday.
"Hey! ~" I greeted slightly nervously, waving my hand nervously, squinting slightly because of the suns rays. Everyone turned and said hi, many smiling broadly.
"You wore it, un! You look amazing!" Deidara yelled happily, jumping up and picking my up in a bear hug. I laughed and wriggled out of his grip,
"Calm down! Now get in the pool, I'll be there in a minute!" I chirped, pushing him towards the oversized pool.
I sauntered over to a couple of deck chairs and sprawled myself across one. "You know, Sasori, you're pretty boring…" I smiled, taking notice of the red-headed puppeteer lying next to me with some black board-shorts on and a pair of black framed sunnies covering his eyes.
"Oh and why's that?" He asked in a bored tone,
"You're not swimming, you're not socialising, you're being lazy…" I counted reasons on my fingers like an immature child,
"I'm talking to you, does that count as socialising?" He asked with a smug attitude,
"Smartass…" I mumbled, causing him to smile just a little, "Look at that, the famous puppet master from Sunagakure with no emotions whatsoever is smiling…" I sat up and poked him. Much to my surprise, he didn't feel like he was made completely out of wood. As perverted and creepy as it may sound, I stroked my hand gently over his torso just to make sure that I wasn't going crazy or imagining things. Sasori tilted his sunnies down and watched me carefully,
"Are you quite alright there, Remika?" He asked dryly as I stared in awe at his suddenly human body,
"I thought you were a puppet! What did you do?!" I asked purely bewildered.
"It's a special jutsu I've just started using. It gives me a more human appearance. I'm wondering if I can make it permanent without ageing…" he answered thoughtfully.
I nodded, taking in what he was explaining but still observing his toned form. He let out a short sigh and started to sit up. I watched him stand and flex before offering a hand out to me.
"You wanted to go swimming…" He offered lazily, removing his sunnies. I smiled and took his hand as we walked to the water. "You first…"
Without warning, he pushed me in gently as I let out a small squeal. I heard most of the members laugh a little before I hit the cool water, but after the short moment when the water felt freezing, it was bliss. I opened my eyes under the crystal blue water as millions of small bubbles tickled my skin and floated up to the surface. I pushed my feet up at the bottom of the pool and drifted up for air. I ran my hands over my eyes and through my hair with a small smile. Sasori stood at the edge of the pool with an almost amused smile that was barely visible on his face. He was perfectly dry; not a drop of water on his perfect body. I moved to the edge of the pool and reached my hand out to him,
"Very funny, puppet-man. Now help me out," I demanded with a smile on my face. He quirked his eyebrow at me, almost as if he didn't trust me. I rolled my eyes, "Don't worry, I'm absolutely harmless…"
With that, he cautiously reached for my hand and held on. With a sly grin and a tug of my arm, Sasori went flying into the pool on top of me. We sunk to the bottom and pushed ourselves back up. When I reached the surface I was greeted with a quick splash from him. "Calm down, a bit of water isn't going to kill you!" I defended with a giggle, splashing back childishly.
"What happened to being harmless?" He asked blankly as he shook most of the water out of his messy mop of red hair,
"I am harmless… most of the time," I grinned with a small pause halfway through.
He rolled his eyes, dipping back beneath the watery surface and swimming along the base of the pool. I watched him swim peacefully as his shaggy red hair flowed out behind him gracefully.
"Remika-Chan!" Deidara caught my attention, "Somebody's wet, hmm…" He pointed out, kneeling beside me from outside of the pool. He flicked my now darker hair with his finger, "Funny, It goes kind of a brown-red colour when it's wet, yeah…" He acknowledged, admiring the colour, "It looks pretty, un!"
I grinned up at him and pushed away from the wall of the pool,
"Come and join us!" I invited him in. He took off his white shirt, leaving him in a pair of washed out red board-shorts. He got a quick run up before leaping in, splashing Konan and Pein a little who were sprawled out on deck chairs trying to get tans. Konan sat up and shook her head blankly before flicking water off her white bikini and lying back down while Pein, being the emotionless el macho man that he is, took no notice of the blonde pyromaniac.
I couldn't see him through the swarm of bubbles beneath the water. It wasn't exactly comforting. Before I knew what was happening, an arm wrapped around my waist and I was hoisted into the air. "GAH! DEIDARA!" I yelped as the blonde hoisted me into the air like I had just stepped out of 'The Lion King'.
"Gotcha, un!" He laughed, throwing me into the water,
As the water engulfed me once more, I couldn't help but laugh in the water.
Who would have thought that The Akatsuki, a criminal organisation bent on world domination, an organisation that had killed many, was this… happy? They didn't seem serious enough to be S-Rank Criminals, but they were, and I couldn't forget that. When this little holiday was over, it would be all business, and I would have to prove to them just how good I am or be killed. I couldn't go home after seeing them.
All of a sudden, I started missing Konoha. I started missing home. I missed all my friends that I had left behind. I had gone missing and they would notice for sure. Lady Tsunade would worry because I was meant to have more training from her before I left; I was meant to go to Suna and meet up with Gaara and his family. I was also supposed to finish my puppeteer training in Suna with Kankuro and Elder Chiyo. Would they come looking for me? What kind of trouble would that cause? The smile on my face faded quickly and a pair of arms wrapped around me, hauling me back up to the surface for air.
"Geez, girlie! You've been down there a while!" Kisame's big blue grin greeted me as he held me up,
"Oh, sorry…" I apologised softly,
"Ha, don't apologise, shortie! If you want to drown that's your wish," He joked, sitting me on the edge of the pool.
"Thanks, fish-stick!" I thanked him cheekily as he grinned and swam off to chase Deidara. I heard Pein stand and stretch out, adjusting his worn out grey shorts before running one hand through his short spiky hair. I stared up at the orange haired man of many piercings and smiled,
"Having fun, Leader-Sama?" I asked softly,
"I'm relaxed for a change…" he answered blankly, scanning the area with his ripple-like eyes, "I'm thinking of starting a barbeque, what do you think?" He asked, eyeing the red-brick barbeque on the other side of the pool.
"That's a great idea!" I chirped, beaming up at him. Konan sat up and smiled,
"I'll get the food if you two start the barbeque," She declared, moving back towards the house. I nodded at Pein and we strode over to look for matches.
"I swear there was a box of them here somewhere…" He mumbled searching for a box of matches. I bent over and also began searching earning an odd look from Pein.
"What?" I asked. Was I doing something wrong? Our eyes connected and I could practically feel my mind, body and soul melting. His eyes were captivating in an eerie way that I kind of admired.
"Why don't you go and help Konan, I can find a box of matches…" He asked blankly,
"Honestly, I'm kind of an arsonist. I like setting fire to things… watching them burn…" I answered, still rummaging in search of the box.
"There's something that wasn't in your file…" he mumbled. I snickered and felt a small cardboard box in my hand,
"A-ha! Got 'cha!" I grinned, pulling out the matches triumphantly. Pein shook his head and set up the barbeque,
"Light it up," He nodded, directing me to light up the barbeque. I swiped the match down the side of the box and watched it catch fire within seconds. The flame flicked and quivered on the edge of the wooden stick in a mesmerizing dance. I grinned and threw it into the gas, allowing the barbeque to work. "We'll probably stay out tonight while we eat or something; you can light a fire then too…" Pein mumbled, turning a few knobs to prepare the barbeque for an Akatsuki cook out,
"Thank you!" I chimed, wrapping my arms around his neck in a quick hug before skipping off,
"Strange child…" He mumbled, shaking his head with a small smirk toying at the corner of his lips.
I went searching for the rest of the Akatsuki to tell them about the cook out. I decided it would be best to find 'The Zombie Brothers' first to get hell out of the way. As long as Hidan wasn't in the middle of a ritual or something, I wouldn't spew.
"Hidan! Kakuzu!" I called out, walking along the edge of the island. There was a small beach with a jetty where a small boat was tied up. Sure enough, the silver-haired Jashinist and living Rag-doll were aboard, bickering.
Again.
I ran over to the wooden jetty and stood by the boat, listening to their argument.
"Fuck off, stitches! I'm going first. You can go after me!" Hidan yelled, holding onto a rope,
"Piss off; I'm going to go first. I was the one who had the damn idea!" Kakuzu shot back, tugging the rope away from Hidan.
"BACK OFF!"
"YOU BACK OFF!"
"FUCKING GET OFF, ASSHOLE!"
"PISS OFF!"
I rolled my eyes,
"HEY! Shit-dick and Fag-nuts!" I yelled, cupping my hands around my mouth to project the sound, "What are you arguing about now?" I asked more calmly when I had grabbed their attention. They glared at me for a while before grabbing at the rope again.
"Shit-dick and Fag WHAT?!" Hidan screamed. I rolled my eyes.
"We were going to use the boat to go water skiing…" Kakuzu explained, glaring icily at Hidan, "'Fag-nuts' here decided that he had to go first in honour of Jashin, or some crap…" He continued.
"Well, why don't you both go on and I'll steer the boat and whatnot…" I suggested, jumping in the boat with them. They looked at each other and nodded, tying the rope to the back of the boat. Kakuzu searched around for another rope and eventually pulled one out and set it up. I steered the boat out into the water while the zombie brothers set themselves up.
"You ready?" I asked, preparing to start the boat. The two men gave me the thumbs up and off we went. Their cheers could be heard from miles around. I turned the boat randomly just to annoy them a little, but they didn't seem to mind. They managed to stay up and do a few tricks in the water even with my manoeuvring through the royal blue waves. I turned back and watched them yell and laugh, and occasionally try and push each other over. Hidan's once pale lavender board shorts were now drenched and dark.
I couldn't believe I hadn't noticed before, but Kakuzu wasn't wearing his mask. His skin was a dark tan while the stitches that covered his body were black. His shaggy brown hair was long and reached his shoulders but his electric green eyes were as piercing as ever. Hidan cheekily reached for Kakuzu and tried to yank down his dark green shorts, only to have his arm punched away. I laughed at the two of them before returning to the dock, letting them slowly sink into the water. They emerged laughing, shaking the water out of their hair as they grabbed the towels they had laid out on the jetty.
"Cheers, Remika. I guess you're not as fucking bad as I thought…" Hidan mumbled, while Kakuzu nodded to acknowledge my help,
"Oh yeah, we're having a cook out soon!" I yelled out, remembering the very reason I had gone to find them,
"Alright, thanks." Kakuzu nodded again, dragging Hidan back to the house as he began screaming profanities about how he didn't deserve to be hauled over there. I smiled at the two and walked off to find Tobi and Zetsu. I just hoped Zetsu hadn't already eaten the swirly masked mad-man.
That would ruin his appetite!
I walked through some trees around the house, listening for any signs of Tobi. I felt like I was in a documentary show on wild animals, hunting down the deadly 'Tobi' commonly known as 'Annoying' or the 'Masked Lollipop Man'
I found him humming a tune, picking the petals off a small flower while perching himself on the branch of a tree. Zetsu had his head poking out of the tree, obviously keeping an eye on him.
"Tobi-Kun, Zetsu-San, we're having a barbeque! Are you in?" I called to them cheerily. Zetsu nodded and emerged completely from the tree.
"Hai, Remika-Chan! ~" Tobi sang, leaping down from the tree and into my waiting arms. For a grown man he was really light. Through the hole in his mask I could see Madara's sharingan glistening at me. I smirked and nodded once, acknowledging his darker side.
"Come on you two, I'm hungry…" Zetsu's white side called out,
"Yeah, and if you don't hurry, I'll eat you both instead…" his dark side added on,
"That's not nice!"
"Neither is waiting for food…"
Zetsu's constant chats with himself were still something I really had to get used to. Tobi wriggled his way out of my arms and threw me onto his back, piggy-back style, hooking his arms around my legs.
"Eep! Tobi!" I exclaimed,
"It's ok, Remika-Chan, I got you!" he giggled, carrying me back to the house enthusiastically.
I had to hand it to Madara; He was one HELL of an actor.
By the time we got there, everyone was hanging around the pool having a great time while Pein cooked the meat and Konan brought out some salad and drinks.
"Remika-Chan! Can you give me a hand?" Konan called out, beckoning me over. I jumped off Tobi's back and skipped off to the blue-haired woman,
"What's up?" I asked as she led me to the house,
"Can you help me take this box of cool drink out?" She asked, gesturing towards a large box. I smiled and nodded, hoisting it up with her as we stumbled outside.
"Drinks!" We called out in synch, signalling to the others that they weren't going to die of dehydration. They all darted over for refreshments while Konan and I walked back over to the deck chairs. It was still only around 3:00, so we could still manage to catch some sun. We slipped on our sunnies and relaxed, soaking up the heat while the rest of the Akatsuki had some fun.
Living with the Akatsuki was going to be good… right?

Hurray! Finally did all the italics and boldness and what-not! :D :D

Sorry, I haven't updated this in a while. I have exams coming up so yeah :/
Hell is heading my way.

I hope this chapter is ok? Remika Takahashi (My character) is starting to bond with the Akatsuki! Sorry, if they seem a bit OOC (Out of Character) But the idea is that they are more relaxed and act slightly differently on holiday?

Favourites are greatly appreciated but comments are loved even more!

Thanks to everyone who has supported me with this so far! Thank you, Enjoy! :)
